This cross-sectional study assessed dental students’ awareness, preparedness, and perceived barriers toward tobacco cessation counseling across South and Southeast Asia. Although students showed good knowledge and willingness to support tobacco cessation, many reported limited practical experience, clinical time, and patient-related challenges. The findings highlight the need for improved tobacco cessation training and clinical integration in dental education to enhance students’ confidence and effectiveness in counseling.
