During the last decades, a huge body of evidence has been accumulated suggesting that citrus fruits and their constituents might have a role in preventing many diseases including oral disease. We aimed to map the existing evidence of the potential of Citrus aurantifolia essential oil as an antiplaque agent. Electronic databases (PUBMED, Google Scholar, and Scopus) were searched using the broad MeSH terms and keywords.
