This rat study found that Peperomia pellucida extract, rich in bioactive compounds, shows antibacterial activity against Porphyromonas gingivalis and reduces inflammation in periodontitis. It improved gingival and bleeding indices, and histological results showed reduced inflammatory cells and better tissue healing, with effects comparable to chlorhexidine.
