The HI Bogi application, powered by the YOLOv8x deep learning model, demonstrated diagnostic accuracy comparable to dentists while detecting dental caries in primary school children approximately four times faster. These findings support its potential as an efficient AI-based tool for school dental screening, although further refinement is needed to improve detection of less common lesion categories.
