Thermophilic bacteria Geobacillus subterraneus, isolated from Mount Tangkuban Perahu, produced antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) with antibacterial and anti-biofilm effects against Streptococcus mutans. These AMPs, belonging to the lanthipeptide/bacteriocin-I group, inhibited biofilm growth by up to 28%, suggesting potential as a novel anti-biofilm agent for oral health.
