Oral adverse event reporting in smoking cessation trials using non-combustible nicotine products: A quality assessment

This study reviewed 36 RCTs on non-combustible nicotine products and found that oral adverse event (OAE) reporting was incomplete and inconsistent. Most trials lacked clear definitions, severity measures, and standardized reporting methods. Although some provided quantitative data, overall reporting quality has not significantly improved over time. The authors stress the need for standardized OAE reporting to improve interpretation and support smoking cessation care.
